The NIIMBOT M3 is now available in Singapore at S$200. It is a 300dpi thermal transfer label printer that accepts label stock up to 75mm wide, with a 72mm effective print width — the widest thermal transfer machine we carry, and the answer for anyone who has been trying to fit an asset tag, a large barcode and readable text onto a 50mm label.
What the extra width actually buys you
Until now the choice in thermal transfer was narrow or narrower: the N1 up to 15mm for cable flags and jewellery tags, the M2 from 20mm to 50mm for product and sample labels. Fifty millimetres is enough for a barcode or a line of text at a comfortable size, but it gets tight when you want both.
At 75mm you can lay out a proper asset card: an organisation name, an asset number, a scannable Code 128 barcode and a QR code that opens the maintenance record, all on one label, all still legible at arm's length. That is the format used for rack and bin identification, equipment plates, electrical panel labels, calibration tags and inventory cards.
Thermal transfer, so the label outlives the job
The M3 prints by melting a resin ribbon onto PET film rather than darkening heat-sensitive paper, which is what makes a thermal transfer label resist water, oil, alcohol, cleaning chemicals, abrasion and sunlight. A direct thermal label in the same place will grey over months in heat or sun; a PET label will still be scannable years later. Our guide to whether labels fade over time explains exactly when that matters, and the water, oil and freezer guide covers how each material behaves.
There is still no ink, toner or cartridge anywhere in the NIIMBOT range. A ribbon is a thin film on a spool, and it is the second consumable thermal transfer needs — worth knowing before you buy.

Labels and ribbons
The M3 runs the same PET range as the M2, now listed as M2 & M3 Labels — white, silver, transparent, black and laser stock from 30×15mm up to 50×200mm, plus the −80°C tube and vial labels and the −196°C liquid nitrogen label for cryogenic storage. Wider rolls that use the full 75mm, and the matching ribbon, land with this same shipment — if you need a specific width, message us and we will tell you what is on the shelf.
One thing to get right at the outset: the ribbon sets the print colour, not the printer. Load a white ribbon and you get white text; the M2 ribbon range runs to black, white, red, blue, green and gold. No direct thermal machine can do that at all.
Which of the three should you buy?
Take the N1 for cable and wire marking and anything narrow. Take the M2 for product, sample and lab labels in the 20–50mm band, including cold chain. Take the M3 when the label itself needs to be bigger — asset management, equipment identification, warehouse and panel labelling. The full compatibility detail for all three is in what labels and ribbons fit the N1, M2 and M3, and if you are still choosing a machine, our Singapore buying guide works through it by label width.
The M3 ships from our Singapore warehouse with a 1-year local warranty.
